Hummingbird Series 2004

Looking through some old files... sorry for all the glare.

Clockwise from the top, the species are Anna's, Broad-billed, Rufous, and Violet crowned.

This was another assignment at CSSSA in 2004 - to do a series of something we really liked. And I love hummingbirds! :3
We used unstretched canvas duct taped over huge plyboards. Mine was painted while propped against the wall in the diamond shape (see left orientation). We used only acrylics, but I was having a field day with the neon orange and pink! 8D Though cause of all the detailing I did I almost ran out of time (only had one week to complete), so some parts look rushed. >.<

On the right you can see the huge canvas draped over my futon... Currently it's still folded up and yet to be framed. It will need to be cut apart to do so...
